"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!

I love model building. I wish i had more time, but my day is too busy. I'm glad people put their work up in deviant art. Gives me a chance to a least admire some of the work as well as use for reference in my art
I certainly empathize with your position. For myself, however, a busy day occasionally means that I will spend a few hours afterward working on building a model. I love the research that goes into building a model, and I love building the kit itself as well. For every kit that I build I probably put a week's worth of research and planning prior to construction. I find that the activity relaxes me, and is a much cheaper hobby than buying a quad or motor-bike or something.
I enjoy seeing other people's work as well, as it inspires me to improve my own skills, and to try new things.
