Reminds me of that chopper from Patlabor 2! Great job!

I'm interested in seeing the landing mechanism and procedure. Seems like it would be quite unconventional.

Then again, if there's a front wheel under the cockpit, I guess they could turn the weapon around 180 degrees before landing. It would fit in quite nicely under the tail.

Never mind, looking at the other pics and it seems that's exactly what they do. Very cool.

reminds me a bit of the aircraft from "Final Fantasy the Spirits Within". Though that one wasn't a rotorcraft, it had a similar nose, tail and wing design.

The main problem I see with the turret mount is its degree of motion.

Very nicely done.

though to be flyable, it would probably need to have coaxial rotor

You base this on the AH-88 Hellhound from the anime movie Patlabor II, didn't you?

No prob, i like this redesign ;), if one day they make a remake of Patlabor, it would be cool to see your version as the new heli :p

Nice helicopter. I do have two questions...

1.) Shouldn't the heli have "Army" or "Marine Corps" on it's tail boom?

2.) What's that plane in the back? It looks cool.

Oh and nice use of ther Playboy Bunny icon on the heli.

1.) In my universe this type of aircraft is assigned to all branches. This is the H-32 a smaller version of the much bigger HX-32 this one is with the army [link]

2.) The plane is just a cargo type of aircraft being escorted by the helicopter

Thanx 4 d input

I gotta ask, why Air Force? I think of those fly-boys and -girls as the "stand-back-and-shoot-from-miles-away" sorts, not the sort who use attack heli's. I'm not trying to sound insulting, it's just that this craft just doesn't sound like thier cup of tea to me. Its just that I'd see Marines as being more likely canidates, you know?
Now, If this craft doesn't fit into current military thinking because of some major tactical shift (or because you don't want it to), well, thats cool too.

That stereotype is a bit incorrect. I've seen A-10's fly in at ground targets and fire before pulling away at as little as a hundred feet.

However, most aircraft are designed around the motto "The farther, the better" and it is true that the USAF doesn't operated armed choppers, at least as far as my knowledge goes.

Coming from an Air Force member you're right the only choppers USAF operates are Search and rescue and security forces no attack.

That is a pretty sleek design. Curious though -- would it park on its nose or its tail? Or an I thinking too much about this? ;)
